Corsica is an island in Mediterranean sea, concerns to France. The road of Bonifacio separates Corsica in the north from the Italian island Sardinia. The Most significant cities of island: it is Ajaccio (capital), Bastia, Sartene, Corte, Calvi, Bonifacio, L'Оle Rousse and Vecchio. Corsica consists of two parts - Corse and Corse du Sud. On island there live 250,000 inhabitants, the area of island is 8,680 square km. Though Corsica politically belongs to France, the island has strong communication with Italy that is confirmed documentary, and also it is reflected in local dialects. A mountain relief, the highest mountain Monte Cinto (2,710 meters). The western coast consist of rocks, at east coast the plain Aleria is surrounded by lagoons. Numerous streams go down from mountains. The most significant rivers Golo and Tavignano.

construction of the ships, tourism, fishery and such as manufacture of paste (macaroni) and cigars. Wine, an olive oil, oranges, a skin of animals and wood - the most important commercial products. In Ajaccio in 1769 Napoleon I was born. The house in which it lived, now is a museum.
